This mill is managed and operated by Kennecott Uranium Company and can be
seen on this
aerial view. This uranium mill is the only remaining conventional uranium
mill in Wyoming. It is one of the six (6) remaining conventional uranium
mills in the United States. The other uranium mills (and their owners) in
the United States are the Ambrosia Lake Mill near Grants, New Mexico (Rio
Algom Mining Corporation/now in reclamation), Ford Mill near Ford, Washington
(Dawn Mining Company), Canon City Mill near Canon City, Colorado (Cotter
Corporation), White Mesa Mill near Blanding, Utah (International Uranium
(USA) Corp.) and the Shootaring Canyon (Tickaboo) Mill near Tickaboo, Utah
(U.S. Energy Corporation).
