This is an aerial view of the Sweetwater Uranium Project taken on September 25, 1980 during construction. At that time the facility was owned by Minerals Exploration Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Union Oil Company of California (UNOCAL). In the foreground is the Sweetwater Pit. In the center of the photograph is the overburden pile. In the upper right hand quadrant of the photograph is the mill and the lined mill tailings impoundment.
